For KLOWN, music has always been more than just sound. It’s energy, chaos, and a journey through sound. With a lifelong passion for rhythm, show and performance, he spent over a decade as a professional beatboxer, mastering his style, precision, musical understanding and hype long before stepping behind the decks. His explosive stage presence and raw energy were forged and carefully crafted in those years, performing across the Netherlands including Hollands got talent.
His journey into drum & bass began young. At 15 years old, KLOWN discovered the genre through old-school reggae-influenced mixes, captivated by the flow and warmth of the sound he finaly felt like he found his place in music. From there, he dove into the UK jump-up scene, drawn to its punch and playfulness, but eventually, it wasn’t enough. By 22, he needed something harder, darker, and more relentless, and that’s when neurofunk came crashing in.
A turning point came at State of Unrest, where the sheer power of the music hit him like a revelation. That night, he knew he wanted to share that same rush the same joy, with as many people as possible. Shortly after, he connected with NRTXC, who gave him his first masterclass in DJing, setting off a new chapter of pure creative obsession. To give the people an experience they have never felt before.
As his style evolved, KLOWN found himself drawn to the Czech neurofunk combined with dubstep influenced sounds, faster, harder, and heavier and with more energy. With this there is absolutely no holding back. Pushing his own boundaries and the limits of the energy the crowd can take, he began crafting high-BPM sets 185 BPM and above, that hit with manic intensity, packed with fast transitions, brutal drops, combined with his own custom edits. His performances are controlled chaos, a journey through music, your own mind, pure energy, and connection that channels his ADHD-fueled stage presence into something unforgettable.
Going easy was never an option.
